Andersen Quartz is the compact charger in the current range. It measures 286 by 172 by 110 mm and can be configured for a 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase connection. Socketed and tethered Type 2 versions are offered.

Versions

The socketed model uses a separate vehicle cable. A tethered Quartz keeps a fixed cable on an external holder rather than inside the hidden-cable compartment used by A2 and A3. Cable length and power version are both part of the product record.

The 22 kW designation describes the charger’s maximum on a suitable three-phase supply. Many vehicles accept a lower AC rate, and the installer may configure a lower site limit. Quartz 7 kW, Quartz 22 kW and corresponding government-register descriptions are variants of the same family rather than separate product ranges.

Smart and solar charging

Quartz uses the Andersen app for charge scheduling and monitoring. Current manufacturer material describes Wi-Fi connectivity, solar compatibility and supported tariff integrations. Solar charging needs the correct power measurement and commissioning. A fixed schedule in the app is different from supplier-controlled charging, and named integrations may change without altering the charger itself.

The charging circuit still needs appropriate earthing, open-PEN and residual-current protection, cable sizing and load assessment. A stated no-earth-rod arrangement must be installed exactly as documented; it does not mean earthing can be ignored.

Identification and warranty

Record whether the unit is 7 or 22 kW, socketed or tethered, and the cable length where applicable. Those details affect supply requirements, replacement parts and vehicle use. Quartz Vision uses the same core charger format but adds a display and has its own page.

The current manufacturer comparison states a seven-year warranty across the chargepoint range. The serial number, original purchase and applicable terms determine the cover for a particular unit.
