AlphaESS
AlphaESS supplies residential and commercial battery-storage systems through a UK division, accredited installer network and local support route.
AlphaESS UK’s catalogue spans single-phase and three-phase residential storage, backup accessories and commercial systems. The products combine batteries, inverters and monitoring in several different electrical arrangements.
SMILE residential systems
SMILE-G3 is the residential family featured in the current UK range. Its documented forms include the S3.6, S5 and S8 single-phase hybrid systems and the T10 and T20 three-phase systems. They combine a solar inverter, battery connection, backup output and AlphaESS monitoring. The compatible battery-module size and permitted module count depend on the exact inverter.
SMILE5 is an earlier all-in-one design built around a 5 kW single-phase hybrid inverter. AlphaESS UK still provides its datasheet and warranty material, while the manufacturer’s April 2026 global brochure identifies it as available in the UK. SMILE-G3 is the lead family in current UK residential navigation.
The separate G3 Backup Gateway sits alongside the SMILE-G3 range. A backup output or Gateway does not by itself establish whether selected circuits or a whole property will be supplied.
Commercial range and older Storion systems
AlphaESS UK’s current commercial range features StaX M29.9/50 and Storion-G3-H30/50. The latter is a 30 kW or 50 kW hybrid platform for indoor or outdoor use. AlphaESS describes it as a next-generation system and integrates the battery, power conversion and energy-management functions in one platform.
Storion-T30 belongs to the earlier commercial range. Its manufacturer page remains available with the original 30 kW and battery-capacity specifications, but current UK product navigation has moved to the G3 and StaX systems. T30 information therefore remains useful for identifying installed equipment rather than describing the present UK line-up.
Battery, inverter and monitoring boundaries
The residential products use LFP cells and AlphaESS monitoring, but the family name alone is not a compatibility statement. SMILE-G3 has several inverter powers, two phase arrangements and multiple battery-module codes. SMILE5 uses a different inverter and different battery families. The inverter, battery-module codes and backup accessory define the compatible system.
The grid-connection record also follows the inverter or power-conversion-system code, not the battery capacity or the AlphaESS name. The exact model and proposed export arrangement need to match the current evidence used by the DNO.
Warranty periods vary across the range. Current SMILE-G3 datasheets state ten years, while SMILE5 material separates a five-year product term from a ten-year battery performance term. Storion-T30 publishes three-year product and ten-year performance headlines. The product list, installation conditions, temperature limits and energy-throughput terms in the applicable warranty document determine the cover for an individual system.
