Heat-pump or fixed-AC brand
Ideal Heating
Ideal Heating is a long-established UK heating manufacturer whose current air source heat-pump range includes Logic Air, HP290 and two Alfea split-system families.
Ideal Heating makes domestic and commercial heating equipment for the UK market. The company dates its foundation to 1906. Its current domestic range includes boilers, air source heat pumps, hot-water cylinders and heating controls, with customer service and technical-support routes based in the UK.
Current domestic heat-pump families
Logic Air is Ideal’s R32 air-to-water monobloc family. The current range has four single-phase capacity names: 4, 5, 8 and 10 kW. Each uses an outdoor refrigerant circuit connected to the home’s water-based heating system. Ideal pairs the range with Halo Air weather-compensating controls and compatible pre-plumbed cylinder arrangements.
HP290 is the newer R290 monobloc family with 4.5, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 kW capacity names. Its maximum water temperature is 75°C, subject to its operating envelope and the exact system condition.
The current UK range also has two split-system families. Alfea Extensa A.I. R32 covers 5, 6, 8 and 10 kW names, while Alfea Excellia A.I. uses R410A and covers 11, 14 and 16 kW names. In a split heat pump, refrigerant pipework runs between outdoor and indoor units, unlike the water connection leaving a monobloc. The detailed model entries presently associated with this profile cover Logic Air and its imported naming conflicts, so the Alfea families must not be inferred from those pages.
The shared Air and capacity wording can cause model-identification errors. A 6 kW or 14 kW current Ideal heat pump belongs to HP290, not Logic Air. Refrigerant, product code, operating limits, siting instructions and certification therefore need to be taken from the named family rather than inferred from the output number.
Logic Air identification
Logic Air product codes are AH750664, AH750665, AH750666 and AH750667 for the 4, 5, 8 and 10 kW models respectively. Each model has separate SCOP (seasonal coefficient of performance) figures at 35°C and 55°C water temperatures. The result changes with model and temperature, so the range-level maximum is not a figure for every capacity or heating-system design.
The MCS Product Directory held current Logic Air records for all four exact capacities on 23 July 2026. Their certificate references and seasonal values are recorded on the individual model entries. Directory figures differ from Ideal’s current manufacturer table for some capacities, so each dataset is labelled rather than combined.
On that date, the directory contained two HP290 records for each of the six capacities. The older Eurovent rows showed a certification end date of 31 July 2026. The newer MCS HP0398/01 to MCS HP0398/06 rows displayed no certification end date. A blank field is not a promise of indefinite certification, so current status comes from the live exact-model record.
Warranty and support boundaries
Logic Air has up to seven years of parts-and-labour cover when it is registered within 30 days of installation and serviced annually, subject to the terms. HP290 has up to five years of parts-and-labour cover under the same registration and annual-service conditions. A paid extension can increase cover to a maximum of ten years for Logic Air and seven years for HP290. Package-specific documents can carry different cover, so the installed product’s purchase route, registration and service record determine the applicable term.
Logic Air documentation is separated by serial-number generation. A serial-specific guide can therefore contain different electrical or dimensional values from another generation.
