Pod Point
Pod Point is a UK EV charging provider, now using the consumer brand Pod, with home, workplace, residential and public charging hardware and connected services.
Pod Point Limited is a British EV charging company founded in 2009. In May 2025 it announced a move from the consumer-facing Pod Point name to Pod. The legal company and much of its installed hardware, documentation and business service still use Pod Point, so both names appear in current material.
Home and business ranges
Solo 3S is the current home charger. It is a 7.4 kW single-phase unit available with a Type 2 socket or a fixed Type 2 cable. The Pod Home app provides smart schedules, charging records, boost, remote locking and solar-surplus control.
Business and shared-residential projects use a different set of products and services. Solo Pro is a socketed 7 or 22 kW unit with RFID and optional communications and metering hardware. Pod Point’s current business pages also retain Solo 3 for workplace, fleet and residential sites. Twin V7 is a freestanding two-socket charger, offered as a 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase model per socket.
Managed-site hardware can connect to Pod Point’s Site Management Service and network. Administrators can control access and pricing and view charger activity. Those functions require the relevant service arrangement and a working data connection, not just the physical chargepoint.
Product names and model codes
Solo model codes carry electrical and connector details. S7 and S22 identify nominal 7 kW single-phase and 22 kW three-phase branches. UP identifies a universal Type 2 socket in current Solo Pro records. Older Solo 3 rows use suffixes for socketed, Type 1 tethered and Type 2 tethered hardware. Twin V7 uses T7-S-07 and T22-S-07.
The GOV.UK eligible chargepoint list dated 15 June 2026 contains both family names and exact codes, including earlier generations. A register row confirms listing on that date. It does not prove that a model is still sold through every channel or that a particular project qualifies for a grant.
Installation, warranty and connected operation
The current Solo 3S documents record 6 mA DC leakage detection and PME or failed-earth protection within the charger. Solo Pro and Twin have their own protection and supply arrangements. The correct installation guide needs to be matched to the exact product and generation, particularly for three-phase, shared-supply and managed-site work.
Pod describes the current home package as having up to five years of cover. Its installer route links the five-year product term to specified training and installer conditions. Commercial product terms differ, with Solo Pro documentation stating three years. The order, installation registration and applicable written warranty should be retained rather than assuming one term across the range.
