Solar inverter brand

Solis

Solis is the inverter brand of Ginlong Technologies, with a current UK range covering grid-tied solar, hybrid, AC-coupled storage and off-grid equipment.

Solis is the inverter brand of Ginlong Technologies. The manufacturer says it was founded in 2005 and obtained UK G83 certification in 2006. Its current UK site covers residential, commercial and utility-scale solar inverters, energy-storage inverters, data loggers, export-control equipment and SolisCloud monitoring.

Product codes matter

Solis uses S5 and S6 as generation labels across several different products. The letters that follow identify the job and electrical arrangement. Current examples include GR1P for single-phase grid-tied solar, GR3P or GC3P for three-phase grid-tied equipment, EH1P and EH3P for hybrid storage and EA1P or EA3P for AC-coupled storage.

A description such as Solis S6 inverter does not establish whether the unit has a solar input, battery connection or backup output. The complete code also identifies the power class and may distinguish battery voltage, current limits and regional certification.

Current residential and storage range

The UK catalogue reviewed on 23 July 2026 lists four S6 single-phase grid-tied families from 0.7 to 8 kW, including two distinct 2.5 to 6 kW schedules. Its residential three-phase solar section uses S5-GR3P families from 3 to 20 kW. Current S6 three-phase grid-tied products begin in larger residential and commercial power classes.

Storage is divided by topology. S5-EH1P and S6-EH1P-L-PLUS are single-phase low-voltage hybrid families. S6-EH3P covers low-voltage and high-voltage three-phase systems in separate model ranges. The current AC-coupled section contains S5 and S6 single-phase products plus an S6 three-phase high-voltage family.

Older RHI and RAI products remain visible in official support material. They should be identified from the complete rating label because retained manuals and service pages do not establish current new-product availability.

Batteries, backup and monitoring

Battery voltage is only one compatibility check. Solis publishes a battery-matching document and states that unverified batteries can cause communication or performance problems and affect warranty cover. The inverter model, firmware, battery-management protocol and permitted module count all need to match.

A hybrid or AC-coupled inverter’s backup rating describes an output port, not a completed whole-home backup installation. The connected circuits, changeover arrangement, earthing and maximum simultaneous load remain installation-specific.

Compatible devices report through SolisCloud. Monitoring, remote settings and tariff schedules depend on the installed logger, communications and account access, while protection and export limits are commissioning settings held in the inverter and associated equipment.

UK warranty and support

The UK limited warranty published on 1 July 2025 gives grid-tied and energy-storage inverters on sale five years, off-grid inverters two years and accessories two years. It applies to products produced from its validation date, subject to its eligibility and exclusion terms. Earlier units retain the terms originally supplied with them.

Solis publishes a UK service telephone number, email address and online service centre. A warranty record should retain the serial number, invoice, commissioning evidence and the terms applicable to that production date.
