Heat-pump or fixed-AC brand
Midea
Midea Cooling & Heating UK supplies M Thermal air-to-water heat pumps and fixed residential air-conditioning systems.
Midea Cooling & Heating UK covers air conditioning, commercial heating and domestic heat pumps across the UK and Ireland. It is headquartered in Newcastle upon Tyne, with a UK-wide team and two warehouses in the North East supporting national distribution.
Current M Thermal range
The current UK air-source range includes M Thermal R290 and M Thermal R32 outdoor heat pumps alongside the H-Pack indoor hybrid system. The two M Thermal families are monobloc products: refrigerant and the main hydraulic functions remain in one outdoor unit, with water connections crossing into the building.
R290 and R32 identify different refrigerants and separate product codes. The current domestic ranges carry labelled capacities from 4 kW to 16 kW, with single-phase and three-phase forms in part of each range. Three-phase R32 commercial products cover 18 to 30 kW. The label is not the complete system identity because output, supply, refrigerant and seasonal performance all attach to the exact code.
Current M Thermal systems include a wired controller with scheduling, built-in Wi-Fi and app-based monitoring.
Fixed residential air conditioning
The current Breezeless E schedule contains four reversible wall-mounted R32 pairs. Their nominal cooling capacities are 2.79, 3.77, 5.27 and 7.03 kW; nominal heating runs from 2.93 to 7.32 kW.
The 09 and 12 sizes share the smallest 812 mm-wide indoor cabinet and use MX2 outdoor units. The 18 and 24 sizes use larger indoor cabinets and CB1 outdoor units. SEER falls from 8.5 on the two smaller pairs to 7.1 and 6.4; manufacturer fuse and pipe limits also rise with size.
All four have SmartHome app control, an energy dashboard and an included RG10-B IR controller. KJR-120M1 wired control with an MFCB multifunction board is optional. The complete indoor and outdoor codes are needed because a nominal class does not identify the cabinet, fuse or pipe schedule.
Arctic, Mono and Split names
Midea’s naming varies between current UK and global documents. The UK range uses M Thermal R290 and M Thermal R32, while global material also uses Arctic HT for the R290 family and Arctic Mono/Split for the R32 generation. The complete MHC or MHA code is therefore more specific than M Thermal or Arctic on its own.
R32 Split places part of the refrigerant circuit indoors and uses a separate hydrobox or tank unit. Exact MHA split combinations were current in the MCS Product Directory on 23 July 2026. The former UK Split URL now redirects to the general product area, and the family was absent from the current UK air-source range. Its UK new-supply position was therefore unconfirmed at that date.
Warranty and exact product records
Midea’s current UK warranty route depends on installer registration and annual maintenance records. Registered maintenance can extend cover by one year at a time up to five years. An original Mi Pro installer can offer a maintenance agreement that extends cover annually up to ten years, provided that installer continues the recorded servicing.
Current Product Directory entries existed for exact R290 monobloc, R32 monobloc and R32 split products at the review date. The monobloc rows identify an MHC product code. Split rows identify the MHA outdoor unit together with its HB or HBT indoor unit, so the complete combination rather than the family name or labelled capacity is the certified identity.
