EV charger brand

Andersen EV

Andersen EV is a UK home-chargepoint brand whose current range includes Quartz, Quartz Vision, A3 and A2 models.

Andersen EV designs and sells connected home EV chargers in the UK. Its current manufacturer comparison lists Quartz, Quartz Vision, A3 and A2. They share Type 2 vehicle compatibility, Wi-Fi-based smart functions, app control and a stated seven-year warranty, but their power, cable arrangement and physical size differ.

Current range

Quartz is the compact model at 286 by 172 by 110 mm. It can be specified for a single-phase 7 kW or three-phase 22 kW supply and in socketed or tethered form. Quartz Vision is a Quartz option with a 4.3-inch display for live power, status and scheduled-charge information.

A3 is a 7 kW single-phase tethered charger with a 5.5 m cable stored inside the enclosure. It also includes proximity and convenience lighting. A2 uses the larger hidden-cable enclosure and covers 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase versions. Cable choices differ by power version.

Older register or product descriptions such as A2103-7, A2103-22, “A3 – 7” and separate Quartz 7 kW or 22 kW lines are exact variants, not additional product families. The rating label and order specification settle which hardware is present.

Solar and smart functions

The current range supports scheduled charging through the Andersen app. Manufacturer material also describes solar-surplus charging, but compatibility varies: the current comparison treats solar support separately by 7 and 22 kW version, and some named tariff integrations exclude the 22 kW A2. The charger version, solar measurement hardware and named integration determine which functions are supported.

The charging rate remains limited by the configured circuit, grid connection and vehicle’s onboard AC charger. A 22 kW wallbox needs a three-phase supply and a vehicle that accepts the relevant three-phase rate to deliver its headline output.

Installation and records

Andersen says current units include measures that avoid a separate earth rod in the documented installation arrangement. This does not remove the need to assess earthing, open-PEN protection, RCD selection, cable route, load limiting and DNO notification for the actual property.

Keep the product code, serial number, cable option, commissioning settings and warranty terms. The stated seven-year cover remains subject to those terms and the original transaction record.
