Solar panel brand
Maxeon
Maxeon Solar Technologies is a Singapore-headquartered solar-panel manufacturer. Its ranges use Maxeon back-contact cells and Performance shingled-cell designs.
Maxeon Solar Technologies is a solar-panel manufacturer headquartered in Singapore. It was separated from SunPower Corporation as an independent company in 2020 and retained the manufacturing business behind the Maxeon and Performance panel families.
Two panel constructions
The Maxeon family uses interdigitated-back-contact cells, with the electrical contacts moved to the rear of each cell. Current manufacturer technical documents include residential Maxeon 6 standard and Black modules, alongside commercial forms with different dimensions and power ratings.
Maxeon 7 is the next back-contact generation announced for Europe in 2024. It is a separate physical and electrical family from Maxeon 6. Its current UK position needs careful code matching because the present manufacturer library does not carry a standalone Maxeon 7 datasheet and the MCS Product Directory has no current SPR-MAX7 entry.
Performance panels use shingled strips rather than Maxeon’s back-contact cell construction. Performance 7 changes the cell technology from the earlier Performance 6 monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cell design to n-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon). Its residential Black modules use a bifacial glass-glass format, while commercial and utility Performance products have other dimensions and ratings.
UK product records
At 23 July 2026, current MCS records include exact Maxeon 6 and Performance 7 codes. The directory contains standard DC modules, AC variants with attached microinverters and higher-voltage forms. Some newer Performance 7 entries name TCL PV Tech (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd as the manufacturer, while earlier entries name Maxeon Solar Technologies Ltd.
MCS status belongs to the complete code and dimensions. A family name such as Maxeon 6 or Performance 7 does not establish that every wattage, suffix or electrical form has the same certification record.
Warranty terms and company status
The UK warranty issued in August 2024 provides 40-year product and power terms for listed Maxeon codes after digital registration. Listed Performance 7 codes receive 30-year terms after registration. Both fall back to 25 years where the registration condition is not met, and the terms also define eligible codes, sale dates, installation uses and exclusions.
On 23 July 2026, Maxeon’s website identified Maxeon Solar Technologies Ltd as under judicial management. It states that judicial managers appointed by the High Court of Singapore on 29 May 2026 are managing the company’s affairs, business and property. The product library, support pages and warranty-claim route remained online.
That company status does not by itself cancel a product record or establish the outcome of a warranty claim. The installer or distributor named as seller, the warrantor named in the applicable terms and the registration record are separate parts of the system paperwork.
