Vertex names and generations
The original Vertex S was a p-type, glass-backsheet rooftop range. Early TSM-DE09.08 schedules used 210 mm cell technology in a 120-half-cell module. Trina later introduced the n-type, double-glass Vertex S+ family for residential and commercial rooftops.
Current Vertex S+ pages cover several physical and electrical forms. Compact products include TSM-NEG9R.28, TSM-NEG9RC.27 and the full-black TSM-NEG9R.25. Larger NEG18 variants are intended for commercial and industrial roofs. The family also includes a reinforced Shield form. These codes differ in front-side rating, bifacial construction, dimensions and mechanical design.
Trina announced a third-generation Vertex S+ platform in March 2026, with European availability stated for the second half of 2026. Its product codes add P and Z characters and use a different temperature coefficient and degradation schedule. A G3 headline cannot be applied to an established NEG9R module with a similar name.
Vertex N is the wider large-format n-type family. Current European pages include 54-, 60-, 66- and 72-cell formats for commercial, industrial and utility applications. The Vertex N G3 announcement is also a separate generation rather than an automatic revision to an installed panel.
UK certification records
The MCS Product Directory held current exact Vertex S+ and Vertex N codes on 23 July 2026. It also retained original Vertex S DE09.08 records with an expiry date of 4 November 2025.
Those records demonstrate why the full code matters. For example, the live directory includes more than one certified wattage group under NEG9R.25, while the current manufacturer datasheet covers 430 W to 455 W. An MCS entry confirms the listed certified product; it does not replace the matching manufacturer datasheet for electrical design.
Warranty boundaries
The original Vertex S DE09.08 has a 15-year product warranty and a 25-year power warranty with a p-type degradation schedule. Current Vertex S+ products have 25-year product and 30-year power terms. The representative large-format Vertex N NEG19RC.20 has a 12-year product warranty and a 30-year power warranty.
Warranty length therefore belongs to the exact code, sale documentation and applicable terms. It should not be inferred from the Trina Solar or Vertex name alone.
