Viridian Solar
Viridian Solar is a Cambridge-area manufacturer of roof-integrated PV panels, flashing systems and related solar equipment.
Viridian Solar is a UK manufacturer of roof-integrated PV products, based near Cambridge. The company dates its origins to 2004, launched the Clearline Fusion system in 2015 and was acquired by Marley Ltd in 2021. It is now part of Marshalls Group.
Clearline Fusion panels and roofing kits
Clearline Fusion is designed as both a solar module range and a roof covering. Its panels sit within the plane of a pitched roof, with aluminium flashing and fixing kits taking the place of the tiles or slates beneath the array. The system is used for new roofs and retrofit work on existing roofs.
The current new-project panel range has four outputs across three formats. G1 modules are available at 335 W and 340 W, the larger M10 format at 405 W and the glass-glass AG-M10 at 445 W. The 445 W form uses N-type tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon) cells. Viridian still identifies some 270 W modules for replacement demand but does not recommend them for new projects.
Roofing kits support portrait and landscape arrays on tile or slate. The standard certificates cover pitches from 20° to 60°. A separate manufacturer detail permits lower pitches with named specialist underlays, down to 15° with one membrane or 14° with another. That detail does not change the pitch range printed on the main certificate.
Product and system certificates
British Board of Agrément certificate 24/7109 covers the Clearline panels and flashing kits as one roof-integrated system. Its January 2026 issue addresses structural loading, external fire spread, moisture resistance and durability for the configurations within its scope. It records a BRoof(t4) external-fire classification and states that structural life is equivalent to the roof structure under normal service conditions when the system is designed, installed and maintained to the certificate and manufacturer instructions.
The manufacturer also publishes separate MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) certificates for the PV modules and the pitched-roof installation kits. A module certificate and a roofing-kit certificate cover different aspects of the finished array. The exact panel code, flashing arrangement, pitch and roof covering therefore remain part of the specification.
Inverters and connector enclosure
Viridian’s current range also includes Clearline string inverters. They are separate electrical products rather than a fixed part of every Clearline Fusion array, and a Clearline Fusion array can use another compatible inverter.
ArcBox is a passive enclosure fitted around a solar DC connector. Its refractory lining is intended to contain heat and debris if arcing develops at the enclosed connection. Viridian documents mounting brackets for roof-integrated, pitched-roof and flat-roof systems, so ArcBox is not restricted to Clearline Fusion installations.
Panel warranties vary by model. The current datasheets state a 15-year product warranty throughout. The 335 W, 340 W and 405 W forms give a 25-year power term ending at 80% of rated power, while the 445 W form gives a 30-year term ending at 87%. The applicable figures therefore depend on the complete panel code.
