LG's UK range includes THERMA V air-to-water heat pumps and fixed residential AC families including ARTCOOL.
THERMA V is LG’s name for a broad group of air-to-water heat pumps rather than one interchangeable product. LG Electronics U.K. Ltd is the authorised UK representative.
Monobloc, split and hydrosplit systems
The monobloc families keep the refrigerant circuit and the main heat-exchange equipment in the outdoor unit. Water pipework connects that unit to the building. The current UK range includes established R290 and R32 monobloc families. A separate R290 Monobloc S generation covers 5 kW to 9 kW in the wider 2025 range.
THERMA V Split divides the refrigerant circuit between outdoor and indoor units. Refrigerant pipework therefore crosses the building boundary, while the indoor hydro or combi unit contains the water-side equipment. Hydrosplit is another arrangement in the wider catalogue, with the refrigerant circuit contained outdoors and water connecting the outdoor and indoor equipment.
These distinctions remain part of the product identity. THERMA V, a nominal output or an outdoor-unit code on its own may not identify the indoor module, phase arrangement or hot-water equipment in the system.
Fixed residential air conditioning
LG’s current UK residential AC range includes wall-mounted reversible split systems. ARTCOOL is used across more than one design and capacity, so it does not identify an exact indoor and outdoor pair.
ARTCOOL NewGallery A09GA1 is a current 2.6 kW rated-cooling model. It combines indoor code S3NM09EL16A.EK6GEEU with outdoor code S3UM09EL16A.EC6GEEU and uses R32 refrigerant with LG ThinQ control. Those specifications apply to that pair rather than the whole ARTCOOL range.
Refrigerants and system performance
The three product families covered here divide the range by R290 and R32 refrigerant. R290 Monobloc uses R290; Monobloc S and Split use R32. Refrigerant and family name do not establish the output of an exact unit at a particular outdoor and water-temperature combination.
Seasonal and point-test efficiency figures differ by exact capacity. The same family can contain several SCOP values, so a family headline is not a substitute for model-specific design data.
Indoor units and connected control
Depending on the family, LG offers a compact control unit, a wall-mounted hydro unit or a floor-standing combi unit. The combi format integrates a domestic-hot-water cylinder, while the hydro format leaves hot-water storage as a separate system component.
LG ThinQ provides supported user controls and monitoring. BECON cloud provides installer and service functions on compatible R290 products. Required modems, gateways and product support vary by family.
Warranty and certification records
LG’s current UK warranty page separates residential AC from THERMA V. Its residential AC table gives three years of basic cover, five years of extended cover and ten years for the compressor, subject to biannual servicing. The THERMA V section gives one year without the required commissioning paperwork, three years after LG receives a commissioning sheet and system diagram and up to seven years with additional documents. The installation’s submitted documents and applicable terms therefore determine the recorded cover.
