Sunsynk

Sunsynk is a solar and battery equipment brand with a UK operating company and support address in Widnes. Its current catalogue extends from residential hybrid inverters and low-voltage batteries to three-phase commercial storage equipment, string inverters, all-in-one systems and monitoring accessories.

Inverter range

Sunsynk’s residential products are split across several families rather than one interchangeable “Sunsynk inverter”. The current single-phase catalogue includes ECCO, Acure, LP and Lynks models, as well as products titled simply Hybrid Inverter. Three-phase and high-voltage ranges use further electrical architectures. The complete model number, phase arrangement and battery-voltage class identify the product; a power rating does not.

The ECCO family currently contains 3.6, 5, 7 and 8 kW single-phase, low-voltage hybrid inverters. Each has two MPPTs, a display, IP65 enclosure and natural cooling. The 3.6 and 5 kW units use SG04LP1 model codes; the 7 and 8 kW units use SG05LP1 codes. Similar power names elsewhere in the catalogue do not establish identical PV inputs, battery currents or backup ratings.

A hybrid inverter manages DC solar generation, a compatible battery, grid import and export and a supported backup or uninterruptible-power-supply output. Backup capability does not mean every circuit will run through a power cut. The installed changeover arrangement and the inverter’s off-grid power, pass-through current and load grouping determine what remains supplied.

Batteries and monitoring

Sunsynk lists low-voltage 48 V-class batteries and separate high-voltage stacks. The current L Series 5.12 kWh unit, model SUNSYNK-L5.1, uses LFP cells and has an integrated BMS. Compatibility is model-specific, particularly where existing batteries are mixed with later L, G or W series units.

Data loggers connect supported equipment to the SolarmanV5 cloud platform. Sunsynk currently lists Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi/LAN, Wi-Fi/GSM, Ethernet/Wi-Fi/Bluetooth and ECS4 07 variants. The logger fitted to a system matters when diagnosing a missing connection because the radio, wired-network and mobile-data options differ.

UK connection status and warranty terms

Current Sunsynk inverters carry G98 and G99 certification where specified for the exact model. The connection route still depends on that registered model, configured output, all other generation at the property and any export-limitation scheme. An inverter above the G98 threshold does not become a connect-and-notify installation merely because the wider family also contains a 3.6 kW model.

Sunsynk’s manufacturer materials contained inconsistent warranty descriptions on 23 July 2026. The inverter and battery range pages headlined a ten-year product warranty. Exact-model ECCO datasheets instead stated five years, or ten years when the inverter was installed with a Sunsynk battery. The formal terms linked from the site split inverter cover into five years for parts and labour followed by five years for major components, excluding labour and the LCD in that later period. For Sunsynk batteries, those terms separately gave five years for the BMS and ten years or 6,000 cycles for cells, with labour excluded from cell replacement after year five. The applicable cover comes from the terms issued for the exact model and installation date, including any registration, installer, battery-pairing and internet conditions.
