Solar panel brand

JA Solar

JA Solar is a PV manufacturer founded in China in 2005. Its residential module families include p-type DeepBlue 3.0 panels and n-type DeepBlue 4.0 products.

JA Solar Technology Co., Ltd was founded in 2005 and is headquartered in Beijing. Its published company history records an expansion from solar-cell manufacturing into modules in 2010, followed by PV power-station activity. The business also manufactures wafers and has added energy-storage products, although this profile is concerned with its PV modules.

Reading the module range

DeepBlue is a generation name rather than one physical panel. DeepBlue 3.0 introduced 182 mm wafer products using p-type mono PERC cells. JA Solar’s current European product pages still include residential JAM54S30 modules in monofacial glass-backsheet forms.

DeepBlue 4.0 moved the principal module family to n-type cells. Manufacturer documents use both DeepBlue 4.0 X and DeepBlue 4.0 Pro. The original 4.0 X technical paper describes the wider generation and its n-type BYCIUM+ cell platform. Current European product pages use DeepBlue 4.0 and DeepBlue 4.0 Pro labels for individual JAM54D40, JAM54D41 and related modules. These names overlap rather than defining four interchangeable panels.

The code carries more useful identification detail. In the residential examples, S identifies a single-glass construction and D a double-glass construction. JAM54D40 pages cover several n-type double-glass variants. JAM54D41 pages identify all-black variants. Suffixes such as GB, LB, MB, LR and MR remain part of the model identity, as do the wattage and maximum-system-voltage form.

JA Solar’s June 2026 warranty also lists DeepBlue 5.0 codes. That newer family does not turn every earlier DeepBlue module into the same product or warranty class.

UK records

At 23 July 2026, the MCS Product Directory contained current records under Shanghai JA Solar Tech Co Ltd for exact JAM54S30, JAM54D40 and JAM54D41 codes. The records do not cover every wattage and suffix shown in JA Solar’s European catalogue. MCS status therefore needs to be matched to the complete code on the module label.

The current European range and MCS records establish continuing product and certification activity, but neither is a promise that a particular UK distributor has stock. The datasheet revision, exact electrical values, dimensions, connector and MCS entry must all belong to the same product code.

Warranty versions

JA Solar’s module warranty effective 16 June 2026 applies only to modules first sold on or after that date. It assigns different product-warranty periods to different code patterns and gives p-type and n-type families different power-degradation schedules. Modules sold earlier remain subject to the warranty version applicable when they were sold.

The warranty start date is also defined in the terms: it is the earlier of initial delivery to JA Solar’s customer or six calendar months after dispatch from the factory. A generic statement such as “25-year warranty” does not establish whether it means product cover or a peak-power undertaking, or whether it applies to the installed code.
