DuraCharger EV is Duracell Energy’s current single-phase home chargepoint. Model Duracell EV (1P-T) 7kW-T is rated at 7.4 kW and has a tethered Type 2 cable, 4 m as standard or 7 m as an option.

It is a 230 V Mode 3 AC charger. The optional cable length changes the physical lead supplied, not the charger’s phase arrangement or 7.4 kW rating.

Charging controls

Solar-aware and tariff controls depend on correctly commissioned measurements and communications. The charging rate also depends on the vehicle’s onboard charger, the circuit setting, supply capacity and any load-control limit.

Connectivity comprises 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, LAN, RFID and Bluetooth for installation. The charger supports OCPP 1.6 JSON, with OCPP 2.0 optional. OCPP operation requires a compatible configured back-office service.

Wi-Fi and LAN provide alternative network paths, RFID provides local access control and Bluetooth is used during installation. The optional OCPP 2.0 capability should not be recorded as active merely because OCPP 1.6 JSON is standard; the configured protocol and service remain part of the commissioned system.

Installation and protection

DuraCharger measures 250 × 341 × 85 mm, weighs 3.2 kg and is rated IP55. It has integrated 6 mA DC residual-current detection and broken-PEN protection, together with a 40 A Type A upstream protective arrangement.

The integrated DC detection and broken-PEN functions are separate from the specified upstream Type A arrangement. The product warranty is three years.
