Enphase IQ EV Charger 2 is a current UK single-phase AC chargepoint. The tethered UK product has SKU IQ-EVSE-UK-1032-0105-1300, a Type 2 connector and a 7.5 metre charging cable.

Charging output

Enphase publishes a maximum of 7.4 kW and 32 A. This is the chargepoint’s available AC output, not a guarantee of the rate accepted by the vehicle. The vehicle’s onboard charger, its state and temperature, the configured site limit and any load control can reduce charging power.

The charger can work as a stand-alone device or integrate with a supported Enphase Energy System. Enphase describes app controls for solar charging, schedules, access and monitoring. Accurate solar or site-flow control depends on compatible metering, communications and correct current-transformer installation.

Electrical and safety arrangement

The UK model includes PEN fault protection and a MID Class B meter. Enphase also lists residual DC detection, overcurrent detection and other internal safety functions. Those features do not replace the installation’s circuit design, protective devices, earthing assessment, isolation and verification.

The enclosure is IP55 and is described for indoor or outdoor installation. Cable reach, parking position, impact risk, mounting surface, drainage and service access still need to be considered. A tethered lead should reach the vehicle inlet without being stretched across an unsafe route.

Before installation, the available supply capacity and maximum demand need checking. Dynamic load control can reduce charging when other loads are high, but its sensor position, phase mapping, communications and failure behaviour must be commissioned. The electricity network notification or application route also depends on the installation.

Connectivity and warranty

The product supports wired and wireless communications and can be managed through the Enphase App. Connectivity is useful for schedules and energy controls but does not prove the metering or electrical installation is correct.

Enphase states a five-year warranty for IQ EV Charger 2. The applicable schedule still depends on the exact SKU, activation or purchase basis, territory, authorised supply and full exclusions, so the handover pack should retain that document.
