Fox ESS S Series G2 is a single-phase string-inverter family for solar PV. The current UK schedule runs from S700-G2 through S3300-G2.
Single-MPPT string design
A single MPPT applies one operating point to the connected array. Roof faces that require independent tracking need separate inputs or conversion equipment.
The array still needs a model-specific calculation. Cold-weather open-circuit voltage must stay below the hard maximum, while operating voltage and current must remain inside the MPPT limits. The efficiency value in the specification is a conversion point under defined test conditions, not the expected annual solar-system yield.
S Series G2 with separate AC-coupled storage
S Series is grid-tied solar equipment with no direct battery connection. A battery can be added through a separate compatible AC-coupled system, but that remains another inverter and another set of conversion and grid-connection details.
S Series G2 codes and handover records
Older S Series documentation remains in circulation, so S Series alone is not a complete equipment description. The G2 suffix, exact power class and regional rating label should appear in the handover pack.
The complete inverter code also selects the applicable warranty policy and any conditional extension route.
