Kensa Q

Kensa Q is a large, three-phase ground source heat pump for commercial buildings and central plant rooms. The current Q80-MAK is rated at 83 kW at B0/W35. It can operate alone or form part of a cascade where the design needs more capacity or staged operation.

Performance

At B0/W35, power input is 20.5 kW and COP is 3.94. Its average-climate SCOP is 4.14 at the 35°C application and 3.48 at 55°C. The maximum flow temperature is 64°C.

Mechanical and electrical data

The unit uses two scroll compressors and 6.8 kg of R407C. Its supply is 380 to 420 V three phase at 50 Hz, with a 65 A supply rating. Typical running current at B0/W35 is 38 A.

The casing measures 1,718 mm high, 755 mm wide and 1,418 mm deep and has a dry weight of 665 kg. Sound power is 72.3 dB(A). Its size and mass affect plant-room access, lifting and floor loading.

System integration

Primary and heating-water connections are DN50. Cascade operation and BMS integration are supported, while the required controls and communications interfaces remain project-specific. Q80-MAK is outside MCS scope.

Warranty routes

For Kensa heat pumps sold after 1 February 2026, the UK warranty has three routes. The out-of-box term is one year from shipment without registration. The free standard term is four years from commissioning when registered within 30 days. The eight-year extension must be bought at the point of sale for £480, costs more for cascades and also requires registration within 30 days of commissioning.

These routes apply to qualifying UK installations by a Kensa-approved, MCS-certified or otherwise competent installer. Eight years is therefore an available paid extension, not the unconditional standard warranty.
