Hi-MO 6
Hi-MO 6 was LONGi's original name for its first HPBC back-contact module family for distributed solar; LONGi renamed the family Hi-MO X6 in October 2023.

Hi-MO 6 was the launch name for LONGi’s first module family using Hybrid Passivated Back Contact (HPBC) cells. In October 2023 LONGi announced that the distributed-product family would use the Hi-MO X6 brand identity with immediate effect. Sales documents and datasheets may therefore describe closely related LR5 modules using either name.
Values for LR5-54HTH Scientist modules
Two 54-cell Hi-MO 6 Scientist LR5-54HTH documents cover wattages from 435 W to 455 W. The specification is not a blended value for every Explorer, Scientist, Guardian or Artist module sold under the family name.
The Scientist modules use a 1722 mm by 1134 mm frame and reach 23.3% module efficiency at the top of the stated wattage series. LONGi’s product information identifies the family technology as HPBC, with the electrical contacts moved to the rear of the cells.
The two Scientist documents give a 25-year materials-and-processing warranty and a 25-year linear power warranty. Warranty terms vary between named subfamilies, so the exact datasheet for the module code remains the authority.
Relationship to Hi-MO X6
LONGi described the 2023 change as a brand-identity upgrade for its distributed products rather than the launch of an unrelated cell technology. Hi-MO X6 retained first-generation HPBC and later expanded into additional named and physical variants. Hi-MO 6 can therefore appear on older paperwork, while current family material uses Hi-MO X6.
Current MCS Product Directory entries exist for exact LR5-54HTH wattage codes. Those records do not settle whether a supplier describes a module commercially as Hi-MO 6 or Hi-MO X6, so the printed model number and matching datasheet are the useful identifiers.
Availability
LONGi superseded the Hi-MO 6 name with Hi-MO X6 in October 2023. It still retains historical Hi-MO 6 pages and exact LR5-54HTH MCS records remain current at 22 July 2026.
