SolarEdge Smart Modules combine a PV module with a factory-assembled SolarEdge power optimiser. This entry identifies the SPV425-R54PDTL and SPV430-R54PDTL N-type TOPCon bifacial dual-glass family rather than every product ever sold under the Smart Module name.
Smart Module and S440 as one product
Factory assembly removes a separate site attachment step, but the module still has to be used within the current SolarEdge inverter and string-design table.
SafeDC and Sense Connect depend on a compatible SolarEdge inverter and firmware; factory assembly does not make them stand-alone functions or remove the need for the applicable safe-isolation procedure.
The integrated optimiser limits belong to this module revision. A later standalone S440 installation footnote should not be used to rewrite them without explicit SolarEdge support.
Smart Module bifacial and nameplate output
The rated module values are measured at STC. Separate rear-side contribution examples are illustrative rather than replacement nameplate ratings.
Actual bifacial contribution depends on rear irradiance, mounting geometry and the surface below the array. The front-side STC value remains the consistent figure for identifying the module code.
Smart Module dual-glass construction and warranty
The module specification and exact-code warranty conflict on the performance period, giving 30 and 25 years respectively. The dedicated exact-code warranty controls; its year-one and end-of-term values are performance boundaries, not predictions for a particular roof.
SolarEdge continues to present Smart Modules in the UK residential range. Other Smart Module generations have their own cell technology, power classes and warranties.
