uniTOWER is Vaillant’s integrated indoor hydraulic and hot-water package for aroTHERM plus. It is not an outdoor heat pump and has no heating-capacity rating of its own.

Cylinder and hydraulic equipment

The current UK technical page identifies VIH QW 190/6. Vaillant describes it as a 190 litre unit, while the detailed specification gives 188 litres of total cylinder storage. The same enclosure contains hydraulic components including the expansion vessel and diverter valve, plus the system’s indoor control and backup-heater equipment.

The published dimensions are 1880 × 595 × 693 mm, height × width × depth, and the unpacked weight is 146 kg. Access, floor loading, pipe routes and service clearances are therefore part of the indoor-location design.

Matched with aroTHERM plus

Vaillant describes uniTOWER as the indoor partner for aroTHERM plus and sells it as part of a pack. The outdoor VWL code still determines the heat-pump capacity, refrigerant charge and most outdoor performance data.

Domestic-hot-water storage is a separate design calculation. The 188 litre vessel and its reheat performance must suit the household’s demand; it is not automatically correct because the outdoor unit meets the space-heating load.

Temperature and certification boundaries

The uniTOWER table states hot water from 55°C to 75°C with auxiliary heating. That is not a statement that the heat-pump compressor alone produces the upper temperature under every condition.

MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) records name the relevant aroTHERM outdoor product and system form. uniTOWER should be recorded with its code in the bill of materials, while certification is checked against the complete listed heat-pump combination.
