22kW charging

22kW charging is EV charging at about 22 kilowatts. In home-charger and workplace-charger material, the term usually refers to a three-phase AC chargepoint that can supply up to about 22kW when the electrical supply, charger configuration and vehicle onboard charger all support it. It is a maximum charging-power label, not a promise that the car will draw 22kW for the whole session. A vehicle may accept less AC power, the charger may be configured below its maximum, load balancing may reduce output, smart schedules may delay charging and product temperature controls may slow charging. The term is different from 7kW single-phase home charging, DC rapid charging, solar-only charging, bidirectional charging and any claim about a fixed charging time or tariff saving.
