Active network management (ANM) is a network-control scheme that monitors electricity-network constraints and can reduce export or import from flexible connections when capacity is not available.

Active network management (ANM) is a DNO control scheme that monitors electricity-network constraints and allocates available capacity to connected generation, storage or demand sites, usually through a flexible or curtailable connection. When a constraint appears, the scheme can reduce a site's export or import so the network stays within its limits. The term may appear in DNO applications, connection offers, export applications, inverter or battery control schedules, supplier export registrations and handover packs.
