Annual consumption
Annual consumption is the amount of electricity or gas a household, meter point or fuel account uses over a year, usually shown in kilowatt hours.
Annual consumption is a 12-month energy-use figure for a household, meter point or fuel account, usually expressed in kilowatt hours for electricity and gas billing. On bills, supplier apps, direct debit reviews and tariff comparisons it may be based on actual meter readings, smart-meter data or an estimate from historical use. It supports comparisons of annual costs, direct debit assumptions and broad home-energy demand, but it is not a half-hourly load profile, peak demand figure, export reading, solar self-consumption figure, EPC rating, DNO approval, SEG registration or a guarantee of future bills.
