Battery end-of-life recycling

Battery end-of-life recycling is the collection, handling and approved recycling route used when a home battery, battery module or battery pack is removed from service and is not being reused or repurposed.

Battery end-of-life recycling means the controlled route for a removed home battery, battery module or battery pack to be collected, transported, treated and recycled under battery waste rules. It is separate from the battery's end-of-life status, a second-life or repurposing decision, warranty replacement, household-bin disposal, installer decommissioning instructions, MCS certification, DNO approval, export tariff eligibility and proof that a replacement battery will be compatible.
