Battery location and ventilation

Battery location and ventilation is the siting note that records where a home battery is installed and what airflow, clearance, temperature or fire-safety conditions apply.

It covers practical siting details such as indoor rooms, garages, utility areas, outdoor walls, protected escape routes, ventilation for heat or gases and manufacturer clearance around vents. It is not a safety approval, ventilation design, warranty decision, planning decision, MCS certification or DNO approval by itself, and it does not give a householder permission to move, enclose, drill, alter or box in a commissioned battery.
