Battery stack

A battery stack is a group of compatible battery modules installed and connected together so they operate as one storage battery unit.
A battery stack is a group of compatible battery modules installed and connected together so they operate as one storage battery unit. In modular home batteries, the stack may be a vertical tower, a rack of low-voltage modules or a product-specific group of battery packs connected to the same inverter, BMS or controller. Adding modules usually increases the energy capacity of that battery unit, but the permitted module count, physical arrangement, wiring, inverter compatibility, charge and discharge limits, usable capacity and warranty conditions come from the manufacturer's documents. A battery stack is different from the wider battery energy storage system, which also includes the inverter, controls, protection equipment and connection to the home. It is not a backup-power promise, because backup operation depends on supported isolation, backed-up circuits and operating mode.
