The Boiler Upgrade Scheme is an England and Wales grant scheme that helps eligible property owners reduce the upfront cost of replacing existing heating with a heat pump or biomass boiler.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme, often shortened to BUS, is an Ofgem-administered government grant scheme for eligible homes and small non-domestic buildings in England and Wales. It contributes towards the upfront cost of replacing an eligible existing heating system with a heat pump or biomass boiler. An MCS certified installer applies for and redeems the voucher on the property owner's behalf, and the grant value is deducted from the installation price shown on the quote and invoice. It is a grant route, not proof of property suitability, planning permission, building regulations sign-off, MCS certification, product warranty cover or future running costs.
