BS 7671

Also known as IET Wiring Regulations, Wiring Regulations, 18th Edition

BS 7671 is the UK national standard for low-voltage electrical installations, commonly called the IET Wiring Regulations.

BS 7671, often called the IET Wiring Regulations or the 18th Edition, is the UK national standard for low-voltage electrical installations. It is co-published by the IET and BSI and sets requirements used when electrical installations are designed, installed, inspected and certified. In home energy paperwork, it can appear around EV chargepoint circuits, solar PV and battery inverters, heat pump supplies, consumer units, earthing, protective devices and electrical certificates. It is a wiring standard, not an installation certificate, building regulations approval, DNO approval, MCS certification, product warranty, tariff eligibility or proof that a particular job has been correctly designed and completed.
