Building Regulations

Building Regulations are the building-control rules that apply to construction, extensions and relevant alterations.

Building Regulations are the building-control rules that set minimum standards for construction, extensions and relevant alteration work. In home energy projects the term may appear around electrical work, heating-system changes, competent-person certificates, handover packs and property records. They are separate from planning permission, DNO approval, MCS certification, grant approval, export tariff registration, product warranty cover and proof that the whole system is correctly designed and suitable.
