Cancellation rights

Cancellation rights are the statutory or contractual rights that let a customer end a contract, quote acceptance or order within a stated cancellation period or after a defined contract event. In UK consumer paperwork for solar, battery, EV chargepoint and heat-pump work, they most often refer to rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 for distance or off-premises contracts, plus any extra cancellation terms in the installer, consumer-code or finance paperwork. They explain how to cancel and what refund or payment consequences may follow; they do not by themselves prove product suitability, workmanship quality, warranty cover, deposit protection, DNO approval, MCS certification, finance cancellation or a right to unwind a completed installation without cost.
