CHAdeMO

CHAdeMO is a DC EV fast-charging connector and protocol used by some vehicles and public rapid chargepoints, separate from CCS (Combined Charging System) and Type 2 AC charging.

CHAdeMO is a DC EV fast-charging connector and protocol used for compatible vehicles and chargers, most often in public rapid-charging contexts rather than ordinary home AC wallbox charging. It appears beside CCS (Combined Charging System) in public charging maps, vehicle manuals, route-planning apps and charger support material, and it is primarily associated in current UK guides with older Nissan Leaf models and other vehicles that have a CHAdeMO inlet. UK Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulations require high-power DC public recharging points to provide at least Combo 2 for interoperability, so CHAdeMO support should be treated as a connector-specific availability and vehicle-compatibility point rather than something every rapid charger must provide.
