Chargepoint

A chargepoint is the EV charging unit, socket, wallbox or public charger that supplies electricity to a vehicle through a compatible cable or connector.

A chargepoint is the device or unit used to charge an EV, such as a home wallbox, workplace charger, charging post or public charging unit. Official UK material often writes the term as charge point. The word identifies the charging equipment, not the whole feature set: the same chargepoint may be AC or DC, tethered or untethered, private or public, smart or simple, and its real charging speed still depends on the vehicle, supply, connector, cable, site controls and any load sharing.
