Condensate

Condensate is water produced when moisture in air or combustion gases turns back into liquid. In home energy paperwork it is most likely to appear around boilers and heat pumps: a condensing boiler has a condensate drain, while an air source heat pump may need a route for condensation or defrost water from the outdoor unit. The important point is that this water is not a setting or a performance number. It is a drainage detail, so the survey or installation design needs to show where it will go, whether the route is protected from freezing and whether it connects to an appropriate drain, gully, soakaway or run-off point.
