Connection agreement

Also known as DNO connection agreement, DNO connection authorisation

A connection agreement is written connection terms or DNO authorisation that records how a property, energy device or generation system may connect to the electricity network.

A connection agreement is written connection terms, a DNO connection offer or DNO authorisation that records the allowed connection between a property, generation device, storage system or other electrical load and the electricity network. In home-energy paperwork, the wording can appear around new or altered supplies, solar PV, batteries, EV chargepoints, heat pumps and export-limiting arrangements. It should be read with the named property, equipment, capacity, export limits and DNO route it refers to. It does not replace an MCS certificate, building regulations certificate, DNO notification, export MPAN registration, planning consent or product warranty.
