Cooling load

Cooling load is the heat-removal duty calculated for a room or building at defined indoor and outdoor conditions. Glazing, orientation, solar gain, room volume, insulation, occupancy, ventilation, infiltration and heat from lighting or appliances can contribute. Floor area alone does not establish it. Cooling load is separate from heating loss, product cooling capacity, electrical input, energy use and an overheating assessment.
