Destination charging

Destination charging is EV charging at a place the driver has travelled to for another purpose, such as a supermarket, retail park, hotel, cinema, restaurant or tourist attraction. It is a location and use-case term: the vehicle is usually plugged in while the driver is shopping, working through an appointment, staying overnight or spending time at that site. UK public charging statistics treat fast chargers as commonly destination or on-street, and rapid chargers as commonly destination or en-route. Destination charging is not the same thing as home charging, workplace charging, on-street charging, en-route motorway charging, public charging roaming or contactless payment.
