Discharge power
Discharge power is the rate at which a battery storage system can supply electricity while it is discharging, normally shown in kilowatts.
Discharge power is the rate at which a battery storage system can supply electricity while it is discharging. It is normally shown in kilowatts (kW), while the battery's stored-energy capacity is shown in kilowatt hours (kWh). Capacity describes how much energy is available in the battery; discharge power describes the upper output rate the battery and inverter arrangement can deliver under the conditions stated by the manufacturer. The figure matters when a battery is expected to cover high household loads, support timed discharge or supply backup circuits, because the system cannot deliver more power than its output limit allows. Datasheets may separate peak power, continuous real power, charge and discharge values or backup-specific limits, so discharge power should be read as a published limit rather than a promise that every appliance or circuit can be supplied at once.
