DNO (distribution network operator)

A DNO is the company responsible for the local electricity distribution network serving a property. GOV.UK describes the DNO as the company responsible for bringing electricity to the property where an energy device is being installed. In home-energy documents, the DNO may appear in connection applications, DNO notifications, connection offers, export-capacity limits, G98, G99 and G100 forms and registration steps for solar PV, battery storage, EV chargepoints and heat pumps. It is not the electricity supplier, transmission operator, installer, export-tariff provider, MPAN or proof that equipment has been accepted, registered or approved for every future change.
