Dynamic load balancing CT clamps

Dynamic load balancing CT (current transformer) clamps are sensors used by an EV chargepoint or load-management controller to measure site demand for dynamic load balancing.

Dynamic load balancing CT (current transformer) clamps are current-measuring sensors installed around selected AC conductors so an EV chargepoint or load-management controller can estimate what the property or site is using and adjust charging against a configured supply limit. They are measurement inputs for the load-balancing function, not the control algorithm, main fuse, smart meter, export meter or proof that the electrical design is suitable. A clamp has to be matched to the product, phase or input assignment and expected direction because a missing, disabled, reversed or incorrectly placed clamp can make the charger see the wrong available capacity.
