Dynamic tariff

A dynamic tariff is an energy tariff where the price changes by time period, pricing formula or market signal rather than staying as one fixed unit rate.

Dynamic tariff is an import or export energy tariff where the unit rate changes by time period, pricing formula or market signal instead of staying as one fixed rate for the contract. In home-energy documents it usually means a smart electricity tariff that uses smart-meter readings to bill electricity used or exported in different half-hourly or time-of-use periods.
