Earthing arrangement

An earthing arrangement describes how an electrical installation is connected to earth and how its protective earthing path is provided.

An earthing arrangement describes the way an electrical installation is connected to earth and how the protective earthing path is provided. In domestic electrical paperwork it may appear as a system earthing arrangement, with types such as TN-S, TN-C-S or TT, and alongside details of the means of earthing, bonding, earth conductors and any installation earth electrode. For solar, battery, EV charging and heat-pump work, it is part of the fixed electrical installation context that affects fault protection and documentation.
