ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation 4) is the fourth Great Britain supplier-obligation scheme for improving energy efficiency and heating in eligible low-income, fuel-poor or vulnerable homes.

ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation 4) is the current fourth phase of the Great Britain government energy efficiency scheme that places a HHCRO (Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation) on medium and large energy suppliers. It supports qualifying low-income, fuel-poor or vulnerable households through energy-efficiency and heating measures such as insulation, heating upgrades and district-heating connections where the property, household and project meet scheme rules. ECO4 may appear in retrofit assessments, supplier offers, TrustMark lodgements, ECO4 Flex referrals, contracts and handover paperwork, but eligibility does not guarantee that a supplier will fund a measure or that a specific technology will be installed. It is not MCS certification, DNO approval, planning permission, building regulations sign-off, a product warranty or a general instruction to choose a measure.
