Economy 10

Economy 10 is a multi-rate electricity import tariff with ten lower-rate off-peak hours in each 24-hour period, usually split across more than one time window.

Economy 10 is a domestic multi-rate electricity tariff where electricity used during ten off-peak hours is charged at a lower unit rate and electricity used outside those windows is charged at a higher peak rate. Unlike Economy 7, the cheaper hours are usually split across the day, evening and overnight rather than one overnight block, although the exact times depend on the supplier, meter setup, local network area and clock convention. The term can matter for storage heaters, hot water, battery charging, EV charging and heat-pump running costs, but it is separate from export tariffs, SEG payments, DNO approval, smart dynamic tariffs, device operating modes and whether the household's total bill will be lower.
