End of life
Also known as EOL
End of life is the point at which a home battery, battery module or related component is treated as no longer suitable for its intended service, usually because age, cycling, capacity loss, faults or manufacturer support limits have made replacement or disposal necessary.
End of life (EOL) means the stage at which a home battery, battery module or related component is no longer considered suitable for its intended use. In battery storage documents it may refer to a warranty capacity threshold, a service-life estimate, a replacement alert, a decommissioning step or the waste-battery route after removal. It is separate from warranty expiry, state of health, usable capacity, a single fault code, DNO approval, MCS certification, export tariff eligibility and proof that the battery is unsafe or worthless.
