Export limit

An export limit is a cap on the rate of electricity that a property, inverter, battery system or bidirectional charger can export to the distribution network. It is usually stated in kW, kVA or amps and may appear in DNO connection paperwork, a connection offer, a G100 customer limitation scheme, inverter settings, battery controls, supplier export paperwork or a handover pack. In practice, the export limit is the operating cap that keeps export at or below the allowance agreed for the connection, so it is closely related to export capacity but not the same as total exported kWh, SEG eligibility, an export MPAN or a product rating.
