Export tariff
An export tariff is an energy-supplier tariff that pays an eligible household or small-scale generator for electricity exported to the grid.
Export tariff is the supplier contract or product used to pay for exported electricity, often through the SEG. It sets the export rate, payment terms and metering requirements for electricity sent to the grid. In the SEG, suppliers decide tariff rates, contract length and other terms, rates must be above zero and payments use export meter readings. The label is separate from an import tariff, export rate, export MPAN, DNO approval, MCS certification, smart-meter installation, export-limit setting and proof that battery exports or all exported electricity will be paid.
