Firmware
Firmware is the built-in software in a device, such as an inverter, battery controller or gateway, that controls how the hardware operates.
Firmware is software stored inside home energy equipment rather than a normal phone or computer app. In solar and battery systems it can appear as an inverter firmware version, battery management firmware, gateway software or a firmware update in an installer app, monitoring portal or support note.
