Flat-rate tariff
A flat-rate tariff is an energy tariff where the relevant units are charged or paid at one unit rate instead of changing by peak, off-peak or half-hourly time bands.
Flat-rate tariff is an energy tariff where the relevant units are charged or paid at one unit rate rather than at different peak, off-peak or half-hourly rates. For domestic electricity import, this normally means the same unit rate throughout the day, which Ofgem calls a single-rate tariff. The label is separate from a fixed tariff, fixed direct-debit payment, standing charge, Economy 7, dynamic tariff, smart-meter data, export MPAN setup, SEG eligibility, DNO approval and device-control settings.
