G98 notification pathway

G98 notification pathway is the connect-and-notify grid-connection route for fully type-tested micro-generators that fall within Engineering Recommendation G98. In a home energy setting, it means an eligible small solar PV system, export-capable battery or other micro-generator can be commissioned first and the relevant DNO notified afterwards, usually through the G98 Form B installation document, when the aggregate registered capacity stays at or below 16 A per phase. The notification is still a defined DNO process, normally due within 28 days of commissioning, and it is not the same as a G99 application, a DNO approval letter, export MPAN registration, SEG tariff enrolment, product certification or permission to add or alter equipment later.
