A gateway is a device, product module or controller function that links home energy equipment to monitoring, metering, backup control or an internet-connected app or platform.
A gateway is a device, product module or controller function that sits between home energy equipment and another system, such as a cloud platform, monitoring portal, app, meter, inverter or backup controller. In solar, battery and EV charging documents, gateway can mean communications hardware, metering hardware, a control interface or backup switching hardware, so the product manual matters.
